9 days!
9 days!
very excited about it.
i've been trying to quit on and off for years.
i got sick last week and didn't have the taste for alchohol and i am going to fight to keep it going.
i've had some tough days and some easier days. i expect these next weeks to be hard.
so far i've made it through two dinner parties and a saturday night and that is motiviating.
thanks for the website!

Welcome to SR tabata.
You are probably right. I found that the first month was the hardest by far and after that it just gets better and better.
For the first few weeks I came to SR and posted and read every day and that helped keep me fixated on my own quest to be alcohol free.
Good luck. You can do this.

right now i am going it alone and using this website for support.
if anyone knows of good support groups in Atlanta GA please let me know.
i know there is a good AA group here but from what i've read i'd like to try an alternative to AA before i go there.
thanks

tabata I only know of AA in Atlanta, but check around there may be some others as well. Just take it one day at a time, keep an open mind, be willing to do what ever you need to do to stay sober.
BTW if I am not mistaken I believe one of the mods here, CarolD is in your area and in AA, perhaps you could PM her.
