Welcome to SR and good for you going to an AA meeting. They sure make you welcome and it isn't hard to return after straying. Most have been there. I got up there and said, "Hi, my name is -------- and I'm a drunk and hope to become a recovering alcoholic. I pray, that I stay sober today." What a warm welcome I got. Did you get a 24 hour chip?

It went well Taz, so well that I returned to the same church at 6:30 am for the morning meeting only to find nobody there.
So I snatched up my acquired list of meetings and found another just 5 minutes away and attended that one. Picked up another 20 #'s there, one of the members knew me and asked if I'd seen another friend of ours.
So I called that friend after the meeting, met up with him and he's going to the same AM meeting with me tomorrow morn , then we're going to breakfast to talk.
So, I'm all stoked and looking for another meeting, found one at noon, drove there only to find it was cancelled back in March!
Quick glance to the list again and I couldn't find anything more for today that would fit in, bummer.
Then, all of the sudden it happened, I felt the "poor me" syndrome coming on and actually thought about drinkin'!!!!!!
I quickly talked myself outta that and headed straight home,.......and here I are.
Thanks to all,
Alan

Holy smoke!

Talk about hitting the ground running.

I've been attending AA for 19 months and I don't even have 10 #'s! Mind you, mine is small-town AA.

Keep at it!
