Has anyone tried using EFT to help beat their addiction?

I heard about this a while back, but never gave it a try. Just wondering if anyone else has heard of or tried it. They claim it has a 90% success rate for addiction recovery.

My Grandfather's into this. He swears by it.

Myself, I have a problem living more than I have an addictive craving now. This not living right is what will pull me back. I use the AA/NA programs to help me learn how to live life in a way that is actually satisfying.

I'm not perfect. I don't always do the right things. And I eat too much.

What does he use it for?

He uses it to deal with Anger, Anxiety and Worry. The things in life which drag him down he handles with EFT. He swears by the serenity it provides. I would suggest looking into it further if you're interested. There are some great videos and books. I don't know the names but they are out there. Larry Craig is the guy I think. Google him.

BUT

Please do not let this get in the way of your 12 step program if you have one! This is outside help. By all means take it but don't let it get in the way of your program.

I have a sponsee who uses EFT to help manage her anxiety and depression - this, in conjunction with AA to keep her living in sobriety.

Yep, I got the EFT newsletter in my email this morning from Gary Craig, which is what reminded me. There are a lot of other people teaching it now too - youtube is full of EFT videos. I forgot that I actually tried it a couple times for a headache when I first found out about it and it did seem to work.

There's another video by Dr. Arden Compton explaining that EFT for addictions is a new paradigm which is interesting also:

I don't have a 12 step program or any other program/plan at this point.

Then maybe you might want to try a support program. Might I suggest AA?
I'm sure that there are a lot of meetings in your area. Perhaps that would be a good starting point. Shoot for a goal of oh, say 90 days?

If you're doing absolutely nothing else to get or stay sober, why not try it?

I had to get to a point where I was willing to try anything I hadn't already done, as what I had been doing wasn't working.
