I got this from one of the many theripists I have seen over the years. Unfortunatly the author is not listed. If anyone knows who it is please give credit where it is due. I found it quite powerful and helpful.

CHANGE

Put a period in your life
and make a fresh start.
Exercise your mind
and open up your heart.

Think of all the things
that you may want to do.
Throw out those clothes that make you dreary
and dress up in something new.

Focus on the future
and stop turning to look back.
Pack your bags and board a train
traveling on a different track.

Don't be afraid to take the chance
to make a different turn.
Just imagine all that lies ahead
and the opportunities to learn.

Step out in front and
pick up the pace.
Smoothe the wrinnkles in your borw and
put a smile on your face.

Plan a way to use your talents
to create a better earth.
Then let the outcomes of your efforts
show how much you're worth.

Once you have decided
to move with a different stride.
Just knowing how far you've come
will make you walk wiht pride.

Remember, you can't wait for others
to applaud what you do.
So just congratulate yourself and
then start something new.

Nice Tyler,

I wrote this last month when I was feeling a little broken.

Broken Soul

feeling broken today
but not sure why
my memories haunt me
no matter how hard I try

lost & bewildered
sits this broken soul
trying to figure out
how to fill up this hole

I have let alcohol
ruin my life
along with its friends
torture & strife

I need a new plan
to steer things right
to embrace & hold onto
with all of my might

so just for today
is how I must think
to save me from
that very first drink

for today I am broken
yes this is true
but I am still hopeful
of a beginning new

Tyler, don't know the author but its nice, thanks for sharing. New Beginning, very good and what a great way to fill the void. Her's one I didn't write but really love.

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Rumi

You all take care
