Smile Grateful To Be Here...

Well, I want to do this because I have a lot to be grateful for. And also, hoping this may be of help to someone else. Yeah, even in sobriety we go through our bad days. Bad days are part of life, they come and go. But, if we can be grateful and try to keep in mind what we're grateful for it helps (at least it helps me out) make it through some of the rough days.

I'm definitely grateful to be here and be a part of the SR Community. I'm grateful to be sober today and enjoying life rather than wasted and passed out somewhere. I'm grateful I have plenty of great Meetings to go to and new friends in recovery that can point out the good when I don't notice. I'm grateful for a beautiful day to enjoy. And I'm especially grateful you wonderful folks let me share without telling me to stuff a sock in it. lol I don't know that's just some of the things.

I'm just in a grateful mood today. Maybe I ought to head over to the gratitude list or something. What are some of the things you all are grateful for? Lets all take a moment out of our busy lives to take a moment to smell the roses, enjoy life and think of something we're grateful for or that makes us happy.

Thanks for letting me share.

Wes

I love gratitude meetings, they help me to see things I am grateful for that I was not even aware of. I could spend hours writing all that I am grateful for all of it due to being sober and having my head screwed back on straight or to say it as it is said in the BB, to have my sanity restored!!!!

Cof, I heard in the rooms that as long as we are grateful we will not drink. I liked that, I want to stay full of gratitude today. Thanks for the post.

I am so grateful for my sobriety.

No more obsession, hangovers, fear, guilt, self-hatred.

Because of my sobriety I can truly appreciate the blessings in my life.

I have an 8 year old son and a 5 year old daughter. Last night, for no reason at all, they hugged me & kissed me and told me that they love me. That look of unconditional love in their eyes - words can't describe it.

Sobriety brings such love, peace, & happiness into my life.

I'm grateful for the path we walk together on our journey in recovery, with all its ups and downs and twists and turns. I'm grateful for the lessons learned from every experience, even the painful ones. Most of all, I'm grateful for the Promises, the gifts we receive from turning our will and our lives over to a Higher Power.

Wes, I'm also grateful for people like you, who share and carry the message. Attraction, not promotion, that's what keeps 'em coming back.

I am grateful for my God,
My life,
My Health,
My clear head,
and My daughter's recovery,
Grateful to hear her say to me today, that she gives thanks in the morning and when she goes to bed at night to her Higher Power.
And I am very grateful to see the miracle that is taking place in her life everyday.

I am grateful that I am not paralysed by fear if my phone rings and that I can have my phone switched on with no fear of answering it.

Thank you so much, I am grateful for your graditude reminder, I find it so easy to forget to remember. Metallica, huh? Very nice. I'm an old sort of guy so here's this:

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found,
was blind but now I see

T'was grace that taught my heart to fear,
and grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear,
the hour I first believed

Thro' many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home

When we've been there ten thousand years,
bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun.

Thanks Wes...

My list is long so I will choose a few for now:

I am grateful for:

My new found sobriety
My new life
My new relationships (inc. old ones that are new again due to sobriety.
Seeing life in a new way
Appreciating the small things in life
Seeing some of my relationships blossom
My healthier lifestyle
Pleasure in activities again (mountain biking, roller blading, tennis etc)
New emotions & feelings that I once killed with a drink
This site & all of my recovery friends here

That's a good start for now

Great post!
I'm grateful:
That it has been 7 weeks since I woke up wanting to kick myself for screwing up again.
For my wonderful, supportive husband
For my great friends and family
For my job, it might not be great all the time, but in this economy I'm just happy to have one

and I'm grateful to SR and all the wonderful open and supportive people on it!
