making an introduction
Im not really sure if there is a designated thread for saying 'hi, hello, I'm new here, etc'. I dont mean to clutter up your forum with a new post but 'hi, hello, I'm new here.'
I was just browsing around. Been a bit lonely with the roomie gone. I was also just feeling a bit down as everyone gets sometime for no particular reason.
I think I read maybe 4-5 full threads, and I mean this in the least offensive way possible, but I feel exponentially better. What the hell was I thinking, 'oh poor me' crap. My life is excellent. As the years go by we forget sometimes. This was a helpful reminder. Cheers! And I look foreward to reading more.

Happy to be of assistance. It's always refreshing to find that people with problems far worse than yours are coping successfully. So stick around, lurk in the shadows, and watch what goes on. A lot of the advice given here is applicable to all of life's little problems and you can't beat the price, either. Welcome aboard.
I'm pretty sure you'll find, or have already found that reasons for sobriety are varied. What a lot of us have found by posting and reading here, is that it really matters not the amount we consumed, the 'bottoms' we hit, or the consequences we earned (or in other words, pissing contests really don't matter.. nor do they tell us anything about a person's severity of problems).. but that most of us are happier, healthier and in a much better life space than we were before sobriety. Whether that's coming from a few glasses of wine a day or 2 a week, or a fifth of vodka every day.. the bottom line is that being sober has allowed many of us to see a better life.
Pleased to meet you, en. Welcome to an amazing place filled with an eclectic group who are constantly surprising me with their wisdom. I might have been able to get and stay sober without them, but I doubt it. Once I no longer felt alone with my struggle, a huge weight was lifted from me.
We'll enjoy hearing more about you & sharing this journey with you.
