Chaired a meeting

Hi,
I now have 43 days sober (my longest in 20+ years) and I know I only been able to achieve this through AA.
I walked into the rooms 7 weeks ago, half drunk to give me the courage to go.
I just so happy and proud that they asked me to chair tonight, 7 weeks ago I could not imagine myself anywhere near capable of doing that.
Anyway just wanted to share.

Great job on chairing! I remember the first meeting I chaired, was pretty nervous, still am when I do. But it's great you got up there and did it. Keep up the great work bro!

Thanks all your kind comments, the crazy thing is I always thought I needed alcohol for my confidence, only through AA am I realizing I don't. I chaired the meeting without any nerves at all.

These are the little benefits, aside from sobriety! I know I used to be a bit nervous speaking in public, but hitting a meeting everyday since Day 1 and making it a point to speak up (even if it is for just a minute) has helped tremendously. Nothing like sharing your feelings and doubts to a room full of people you've never met before to get you used to public speaking.

Congratulations on your sobriety, and thanks for your service work.
