I have great respect for the Salvation Army and like that commercial too, it's very touching.

Love that commercial - we usually donate all of our garage sale stuff to Goodwill - it's going to Salvation Army this year. I didn't even know they helped people with drug abuse.

I have always donated to Salvation Army rather than Goodwill.

Many years ago (43) they helped me when I was unwed and pregnant. There services were invaluable. SA has always had a special place in my heart.

They run some really great 'soup kitchens', they still have the "Booth Memorial" services for unwed mothers, they have a really good rehab and it's all FREE.

If you ever have a disaster, HP forbid, Salvation Army is the one to call. They help with housing (if your flooded out or a fire or tornado, etc) they will help with your utilities if you are in a bind or your rent. It is just an AMAZING organization in my book!!!!!

I too love that commercial and it is one of the few on the air that I do not walk away when a commercial is on.
