Bored & Broke!!!! What do you do??

I have plenty to keep myself busy, I really do but I am feeling like I want to do something different. I don't know what. However, I am broke, broke, broke!!!!

What I would love to do is go out and treat myself.......but alas, I am broke!! LOL!!!

Are there any internet things you all like to do other than here? Something fun, I don't want to "clean out my closets" or anything like that.......BORING!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm bored out of my noggin!!

Hey I can relate to that...I just feel kinda stuck, I don't know. I have a little over a month sober, and it feels freakin weird. I'm so not used to this, I just hope I adjust better to it in time... I feel bored, empty, no motivation. Yeah, I don't feel like cleaning out my closets either. There isn't one thing I can think of that I would enjoy doing right now. The depression sucks, don't know if you're depressed though. If you get any ideas or find anything interesting to do, please share...Sorry, I'm not much help lol.

Oh gosh vegi, if I were back in your neck of the woods, that would be easy for me: I used to go to the beach, walk around, browse through the little shops, maybe treat myself to an ice-cream, walk down a pier or boardwalk, take in the sun, the ocean air, the sights, smells (mmm, suntan lotion!) and sounds. Or just sit on a bench and take it all in. No money required! Have also gone to the Ritz, and walked around, hung out by the pool, pretended we were guests and do some people watching, see how the other side lived, lol! Also no money required, only wishful thinking!

A drive down A1A? A new book (any used book stores around? I recently got some great books for 87 cents ea. at the Salvation Army store. I can definitely splurge like that, lol!) A movie (hulu.com)? ((Aw, geez, now I wanna go to the beach and i'm no where near one!!!))

Hope you find something to get yourself un-bored!

Is the weather nice today? Do you like to read? There's a nice park fairly close to me and when I don't know what to do, I'll take a good book and a blanket and spread it out under a nice shade tree and just read and enjoy the fresh air. It doesn't cost anything and it's a really nice way to spend a couple of hours.

LOL!!! You know my neck of the woods all too well!!!

You know, I've already done ALL OF THAT!! There is a Goodwill down the street, already did that. There's a Barnes & Noble, just bought myself the new Stephen King "Just Before Sunset" that I have been reading. I've lived near the beach ALL of my life so it's kind of like "eh, been there a million times, done that a million times", hee he.......... Just finished giving myself the second facial of the weekend.

I haven't tried the hulu.com however Comcast (my cable company) treated me to a movie yesterday because I was having audio issues, watched "Uninvited".

I really feel like I've covered all bases............what's a girl to do????

And Sweets79, I'm not depressed however if I don't find something to freakin' entertain myself with???????? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

Dang this stupid boredom.

you could argue politics with a house plant, or check out the sticky on this forum "looking for something to do?" im sure there are some that dont cost money.

Im bored today too. i use an internet program called stubleupon where i can just push a button and a random website comes up that other people in teh stubleupon community has rated as interesting, so soemtimes i spend ours just exploring those sites.

I like to do that. I end up people-watching instead though.

Ok, one thing is for sure: DO NOT give yourself another facial, lol! You'll overexfoliate... but feel free to give yourself a new mani/pedi... even if it's the 3rd one this weekend, lol! Or like adore said, have a serious discussion with the houseplant (that was funny!)

Well, of course...that's what you're supposed to do between chapters.

Love the people watching too. Well, I just did my toes, clipped my finger nails, cleaned my floors, put tanning stuff on my face, got my coffee ready for tomorrow, counted the change in my change cup to see how much $$ I have for a "free day" in the future. *SIGH*. I think I'm getting cured you guys!! WOO HOO!!!!

Also went out and saw one of the Resident Managers from the treatment center I used to love at (right across the street, known her since I was 16 yo) and went and chatted with her for a minute as well.

I think I'm going to go to the house for dinner with the girls. There are a lot of new clients over there. I should go introduce myself.

HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, I crack myself up.

Volunteer somewhere? Library, school, food pantry, English as a Second language program ( if you can't teach, you would probably be a godsend to a parent who wants to attend and needs an on-site babysitter!), crisis pregnancy center, hospital...you will definitely feel "rich" at the end of the day! If you are stuck in the house, I LOVE the house plant idea - LOL! Jomey

OH! thought of another thing....some of my friends in town swear by going to the local beauty school for haircuts, color, manicure, etc. They always look pretty good to me, and since they are beauty treatment "guinea pigs", they pay little or nothing for the service...like $2 manicures!

I whole-heartedly agree with volunteering.

It costs nothing and you will be amazed at how much you are given in return.
