Been away a long time....
and its good to be back. I used to post here regularly some time ago.....but you know how we get. I think its great that so many people I remember are still plugging away....staying sober and connected. I would like to resume doing that as well. I am currently clean and sober.....though I have struggled and made mistakes and lost an awful lot in the not too distant past.....I have been utterly defeated by alcohol and drugs and feel I am finally ready to admit this and start to climb out of the darkness....it takes what it takes, right? Anyway, I'm at work so I have to keep it brief....there's so much I need to share about it........Thanks, Rob
Hey Rob, welcome back, good to see you here again. If I recall correctly where you were at just a while ago it sounds as though you are now making some progress. Looking forward to hear more Rob.
Welcome back and keep moving forward.
You mentioned that you were utterly defeated by drugs and alcohol. Could it be your inability to control any use whatsoever of mood or mind altering substances that really defeated you? If you blame the chemicals, you miss out on the chance to take personal responsibilty for your attitudes and actions. If you can get stronger with that, the next time your disease resurfaces you will be better equipped to deal with it. Step One helps us to realize that we are powerless over our addiction and gives us the opportunity to stop struggling with it by practicing surrender.

Welcome Back Rob. Glad to hear you didn't lose your job as well, especially with the way the economy is. I hope this time you have surrendered and are ready to go to any length in order to stay clean and sober and move into Recovery.
