Day 11 - Haven't posted in a while
Hey, everyone!
I haven't posted here in some time and just wanted to say everything is going quite well really. Made it through the first weekend, which of course just to add a degree of difficulty happened to be Memorial Day 3 day weekend! I must admit, Friday after work and again on Saturday at the grocery store I was feeling a bit jealous of everyone loading up the coolers and getting ready for the big drunken holiday. Those of you that know my story know that my wife is in a 4 week rehab program, so I'm not drinking to support her, and even in those week moments having a drink was never an option that I considered so I consider that progress from where I started. The first couple days of this I really didn't know if I could do this or not and I am so relieved that I CAN do it, I WILL do it, and I WON'T go back on my word to my wife. For me, it's a nasty habit that I have to break, but have no doubt that I will.
I'll post more later, but wanted everyone to know the update and that I haven't fallen off the wagon.

Congrats man! Small world, I'm on day 12 (in Chicago as well) so I went through the long weekend with you. That's great your supporting your wife so much, even though you don't *have* to be sober. I'm sure it will mean a lot to here when she gets done with the 4 weeks.
