well I finally did it. went to a rehab facility and detoxed and had group and process meetings etc. 10 days sober, longest sober I can remember for at least 20 years. Man were the first two days tough (the 'stickies are right- dont do it alone- my bp shot to 190 over 125 first day, but they took good care with proper drugs. Then went into group therapy sessions etc from 6am to 9pm every day (when I could finally hold a conversation). It was an experience I will never forget (althought I spent Memorial Day there-which was cool with the peeps I was with , met some very beautiful people with all kinds of different issues, 12 of us in all. Anyway- long story short. Dub is sober. Time for meetings and counseling. You guys had a lot to do with it. THANKS!! I feel freeking great. Yeehaw. Going for a ride on my Harley tomorrow, completely sober, and smell the roses and feel the wind.
Love to all-

you know- the 12 of us in the rehab got so close (guess you have to being together 15 hrs a day for 10 days it was really weird). We really bared our souls sooner or later during the week.
I hugged and shook hands when I left, and well, I will say it, actually had tears as I was leaving which flipped me out, I didnt expect that- which if you know me is really uncharacteristic. It was really emotional, I already miss those guys and gals. Enough about that I guess- I am getting emotional typing this. This sober thing is really powerful.....

I was also wondering about you, Dub. I am sooooooooo happy that you finally did something for yourself. When I was in treatment a year ago, I became friends with mostly everyone else there. When it was time for me to go, I really didn't want to. I was there for 2 1/2 weeks. The average stay is 4-7 days.
I am just thrilled for you!

thanks everyone- I appreciate you. Think I might go hit my bed for the first time in 10 days- it has been tiring and I am worn out. I really appreciate you all- you're the best.
