Hi Joseph,
I moved your post to a thread of its own, so you could get a proper welcome.
I'm glad you found us. I think music can be a trigger for many people, but hopefully you can find a way to use music as a positive influence in your life. Music has helped me so much through my recovery.

Hi Joseph, try not to dwell on your relapse. Before when I've relapsed it's been at times when i've considered myself to be doing great and not wanting a drink at all. It's strange. Like Angelina's said though, I learnt from, and remembered the experiences (how bad I felt basically) It's all part of recovery. Good luck fella..
Welcome Joseph
Dunno if this helps you, but I had to separate music from 'the rock and roll lifestyle' and see, in fact, that they weren't the same.
You can play guitar loud without the gin, man

Welcome......
I'm glad to know you are making a fresh start.
I too returned to drinking ...more than once
after I started AA.
But...I kept going and finally I did stop drinking alcohol.
This can be true for you too.....

Welcome to SR! They say everything happens for a reason, maybe it took you relapsing to get on your computer and find us. While I agree the Meetings, working the Steps, a Sponsor and reading the BB are important ingredients, maybe this was your HP's way of saying you need some more support systems. And that's where we come in. There are times in the middle of the night when I can't sleep and want to "talk some Recovery" but don't want to call and wake someone up just to chat. I log on here and there's always people here.
God Bless & Keep it Simple,
Judy
