In the UK we have the same thing on the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11 th month ie 11.00 am on the 11th November.

This is also the day World War 1 ended.

I always remember the sacrifices made on my behalf. I'll never forget. Thanks, Carol

And remembering my dad today...he didn't pass on the battlefield, but received the

Purple Heart and the Bronze Star wounded in service in Italy in WWII.

He passed in a nursing home here locally in 2000. My hero in more ways than one...

Being a veteran of the services from67 to71, it seems to me that memorial day is day for the living a time of rememberances of those who are no longer with us. I salute them all and all their love ones. Wars come and go with to much regularity, our govts cant seem to learn from the past.I still miss and love all the brothers I lost in viet-nam. I mourn the youth of today being killed in the mideast.God rest all thier souls.

Being the son of a vet, being a vet myself, and the father of a vet, this days holds a great deat of meaning for me, it reminds me as it does many other the debt we owe to those who have given it all that we may live the lifes we lead today.
