"I'm happy you don't drink alcohol anymore"
This is what my daughter said to me the other day. It's an inspiration for me and for me to continue not to drink. I feel like I did miss important parts of my daughters life when I did drink, I was too wrapped up in my own little world dealing with the issues in my head. I will never get that time back but I am looking into the future one step at a time. Today is day 40 for me.
Our children do inspire us maz. I couldn't agree more with you on that. Mine inspired me to stop a year ago, but now its become a bit more then that. Its a good way to start in my mind any ways. Thanks for sharing.
My FAVORITE part of being sober is being a sober Mom today.
My 17 year old came and saw me get my 1 year token and cake. He cried. My husband cried. I cried. I am so grateful for my life today.

Maz, You have also been blessed with a wonderful gift, please remember it & value it for the rest of your life. :ghug:
May it help to keep you sober & on the right track!
Congrats on your time sober!!! Keep up the great work!!
I never would have thought that they (young children) could understand or notice the differnences in us. For certain my 3 year old son and I have grown immensely closer and more connected the last 7 months. I was always his "Mommy", but now I'm his 'Mother' who is clear headed and can protect him AND his Mommy who gets up bright and early with him everyday!!
Ironically MY MOTHER (who is a 25 year recovering alcoholic - I was 5) is my inspiration and drives me to stay sober! I hope I am half the women she is!
Love,
Shannon

Maz, congrats on your 40 days. It's all a learning process. I learn more the "why's and how's" this program works in everyday situations that I go through. My youngest son is one of those beacons that helps keep me sober. Lot's to be grateful for.
congrats on your 40 days! This past Christmas when I'd been sober for about 16 months my step-granddaughter told me that my daughter was proud of me for not drinking, then a month later my son-in-law was working on my house and he also told me that my daughter was proud of me it was and is an awesome feeling! Daughter doesn't say things like that easily so it meant as much if not more to know that she had expressed her feelings about me to her family.
