OT-a few prayers for my youngest daughter
OT-a few prayers for my youngest daughter
Amber was working her horse in the arena this evening, and he got too close to the fence. Her stirrup got caught, he got scared, bucked, and bolted.
Nothing is broken but I've got to wake her up every 2 hours through the night.
If I'm not around here tomorrow, you'll know it's due to sheer exhaustion!

I have experienced that more often than I ever wish to remember. I am starting to think I am too old to ride. I dream of the days when I didn't fear falling from my horse. What I didn't know wouldn't hurt me, right?
I am saying a prayer in thanks that she (and her horse) is okay.
She has you to check in on her tonight, that's what love does.
Hoping to hear she's fine in the morning.

Thanks. Sonny is fine-it just scared the bejezuz out of him. She works him in a big outdoor arena where they hold rodeos in the summer locally. Thank God the dirt is pretty thick and soft there compared to other surfaces. It did tear the notch where the stirrup was fastened when it caught and he bucked.
She's currently setting her cell phone for 4 alarms throughout the night because my alarm clock went belly-up late last year. I'll have it right next to me.
If there's one inkling of her being 'off' when I wake her up, we're up to ER faster than you can blink an eye!

We're still looking at having a couple of good guys from AA to build him a little two wheeled cart too.
She made it through the night fine, is showered up, and will head to her nanny job in a bit. She's one hurting unit, but we expected that. I'm pretty bleary-eyed so will head back to bed when she leaves.
Thank you so much for the prayers!

Hi Von, what a wonderful girl your Amber is and her mum is special as well. I hope you are BOTH finished with accidents for a long time, as you have had your years share of those already. By the way, how is your foot and ankle after your fall earlier this year?
Best of health to you both,
God bless
