I AM going to a meeting this morning......Whew!!!!!!!!
I AM going to a meeting this morning......Whew!!!!!!!!
What a number my birthday is doing to me. Good Lord!!!! Holy Alcoholic!!!!! I could have hid in my home all day yesterday and no matter what, in the back of my head all I wanted was a party.
Yes, it was my actual birthday, not my one year. I got past that, however, that just goes to show me that I am not over it yet. Here comes my birthday and I'm white knuckling it through the day.
Since today is still techinically a "birthday" weekend day, hee hee....... I AM getting my butt to a meeting this morning. Need to kick this day off with some AA preaching!!!! Hallelujah brothers and sisters!!!!!
I AM STILL SOBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was almost afraid to click on this to be honest . . . after I did, I let out a big sigh of relief for you. Birthdays and Holidays can be really big triggers since in the past, us alcoholics usually drank. I didn't drink everyday, only on the days that ended in "Y" lol
I'm glad you got through yesterday, now, just work on today and everything will fall into place beautifully. Again, Happy Birthday!

That 1% of the time
Happy birthday, Vegibean!
99% of the time I don't even think about drinking. But there's that 1%...those old triggers come around.
In the past, it would have been automatic ("a couple of beers won't hurt" "Just one night of drinking, I'll be fine.") Now, I get through those tempting times with the help of my Higher Power and the AA. For me, this is PROOF that the AA program works. In a way, a major reason I am in AA is simply to get through that 1%.
Hallelujah sister!

Glad to see you taking care of your recovery, Caitlin. Sober birthdays are way more fun! No hangovers the next morning, no phone calls to apologize to people, no shame, remorse etc. Good on you girl, I'm proud of ya.
