i know this is weird- so bear with me

since i cut back my drinking big time (and basically dont sleep now)- I am sweating and shaking a lot.... (I can deal with it but its really weird). I feel like the guy in the Austin Powers movie - without the chicken leg (he has a couple of lbs on me). Well maybe thats exagerration......anyway, this crap is tough, lets all hang tough. i am looking for my day 1- its very soon. I didnt want to kill myself.

Dub - get yourself to a doctor and make tomorrow Day One, mate. Forget about tapering - just do and see the Doc.
.
If you're cutting back, the sweating the insomnia and the shaking could very well be withdrawal - and no the answer isn't to drink more....

get to a dr - make a clean breast of it and start your journey from there.

I know I'm not the first person to suggest this - but pls do something.

Take some action. Posting here is fine, and more power to you - but it works best when we stop drinking - period.

I love it when someone 'gets' me, Dub

I know about not sleeping too - I have no tips tho, sadly.
Bane of my life when I was drinking, and trying to stop.
I rarely have problems now, tho so you have that to look fwd to

Hope you rest well and go and see someone tomorrow
take it easy

I tried tapering off too, it never worked. I'd go into withdrawals anyway and just drink more. Please do see a doctor. Sometimes a mild anti anxiety med is prescribed to ease the withdrawals. Please get medical attention and some help in just quitting the alcohol. Once you get thru detox you'll start feeling better.

What Dee said... get through the withdrawal and into sobriety. If you are anything like me, you will start sleeping... which is awesome!

Please get help. I went to an inpatient treatment facility. Didn't want to by any means, but finally surrendered and said, "Ok," and did it. You can, too. Just DO it!!!!
