To sum it up.

Hey SR gang, just wanted to drop by and hear from everyone around here.

Me? well letīs see:

I placed myself off the benzos i was taking in this thread - a week ago, on my own.

I was smoking cigarettes again (quit like 6 years ago) - about 10 of them a day - quit them
that same day along with the benzos.

Still not drinking - expect from this one beer - not really all that happy with my alcohol sobriety
but i am happier in the sense that i could not imagine a single day, going without it. Now that has changed.

Got back from the psychiatrist today - getting a MRI, EEG and more blood-work
(my usual "annual" tests went ok) and going from there.

Overall, having an average week.

How about you?

Hola Chinita! how are you doing? i heard you got a job! good stuff!
Been following your posts and your threads as usual.

And well, i never really left.

I lurked a lot, and when i say a lot is A LOT. current threads, old ones,
followed newcomers, heard what the old timers got to say. And this is
something i need to let out because it is very important to me:
No matter how much or how little i wanted to drink, no matter if i was
having a great or a horrible day, no matter what: I KEPT COMING TO SR.

Some chinese martial arts people will tell you that in order to learn a move,
you need to do it 5000 times to incorporate it. This easily applies to anything.
And it applies to my relationship with SR (hence: with all you boys and girls).
I just... kept coming back. And things, some days make sense, others donīt.
But the whole thing then comes as a realization, through my own experience
and through others. Comes crystal clear and i works at the end of the day.

So thank you and everyone around here! I am new to this journey and i donīt
what lies ahead, but i do know that there is enough strength around here
and in people in general - to make it through.

Sending some love your way!
