Please Pray for my sister

When I invited my sister over mid week for Easter she was so glad I had called. She said that she would bring pasta salad and deviled eggs.
She not one that attends church but when I asked her she seemed like she would possibly meet us.

I prayed for her a lot in the days after that she would be there with us and then come over for Easter.

Everything was in line until yesterday when I called 911 on her (posted in another thread). She told me during that conversation that this family was ****** and that she wouldn't be here.

She has alienated herself from those who care; being as she is an alcoholic she thinks we all look down upon her. I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm fairly certain they do not judge her, she is sick, she is an alcoholic.

It seems as if she opened herself up in the middle of the week to attending church, and the devil sleazed himself in and convinced her that we were her enemies, and to stay away from us…

I pray that my sister will get the help she needs and I pray for her son that is not in her care at this time. Will you all say a prayer too?

Have a Happy Easter!
Love,
Suzette

My thoughts are with you, your sister and your family.
Having been where she is now. You could be a good influence on her. Leading by example.
I hope she gets better. And I hope you have a great holiday.

Oh wow I'm so sorry to hear that. Hopefully she'll get it all figured out and one day she'll look back and thank you. I know that had to be so hard for you. I don't even want to go back to my X husband but him serving me with divorce papers was the best thing that ever happened to me and I have my life back today.

My heart goes out to you Girl. :ghug

Prayers going out for her. Addiction can turn us away from things that would help us the most.

(((Suzette)))) I really do understand -- I have a sister who is similar to yours, it's very sad. I think you did the right thing (calling 911) -- I know I would have done the same.

Suzette, you know as well as I do that us alcoholics are two different people when we are drinking vs when we aren't. I imagine when your Sister agreed to Church and dinner, she wasn't drinking. Then once the alcohol hit her system last night, she became the other person.

You know how you were before you got Clean & Sober . . . until you hit your bottom, there was nothing no one could say to you to get you to stop drinking and work on Recovery.

I will Pray for your entire Family,
Judy
