Thinking About My Son
The thread someone started the other day got me to thinking. I was lying in bed & I got to thinking of when my son was 11 one Christmas, he saved his allowance & bought me a Diamond stickpin. Then he gave me a hugh hug. I have a picture of that Christmas. Many memories of my son were happy ones but they prety much ended the last few yrs.
I wrote to him & told him how much I missed him. I mentioned a few of my memories & more or less told him he hasn't written to me in 3 months.
I also sent him $30 for the commissary.
I hope I hear from him soon.
Thanks for listening,
Diane

No one can take those memories from us. I often think back to special times with each of my kids.
Things change and that change is not always good.
But if you think about it, how the heck could anything compete with something so special as that Christmas?
I try to stay in today and make new memories...the good things are all around us if we look close enough. And even if "good" isn't what someone else would consider the same, its good to me.

Thanks for sharing that memory of your son. It sounds like your letter and putting money on his books was an act of love with no expectations. To me, that alwasy makes it a "good" thing. Hugs

(((Rozied))) The sons we used to know may be lost, but our memories
remind us that they are still there somewhere under the veil of addiction.
God never loses sight of them and He loves all his children, even the addicted ones.
Your boy is in my prayers. :praying

Diane-
his need and ability to stay connected are different than yours.
I am glad you didn't let that stop you from keeping the connection.
Everyone likes to be reminded that someone cares about them and loves them.
Good job mama.
