Relapse
I guess this would be my first relapse since I quit drinking, last night we had a function at work to celebrate a great month and I slipped, my mate offered me a drink and I took it and then another and another...you know how it goes
Well I'm not gonna beat myself up about it, just have to acknowledge the set back and then move on.
Day 1 for me and going strong.

Don't be hard on yourself, move on in a forward direction.
One suggestion based on my own ES&H: think of it as a choice rather than a relapse or a slip.
Drinking again is a conscious and willing CHOICE... don't make that choice.

Indeed, one day at a time, thats all it takes. The hardest part for me is the weekends and those nights when I'm alone at home with nothing much to do. I'm interested to hear how some of you deal with those days when your mind plays tricks on you and tries to convince you to take that drink.
What's working for me so far is to remind myself of how badly I felt after my last relapse almost two months ago. My relapse only lasted one day but I felt awful for two days afterward. Now when I have thoughts of drinking I just tell myself how much I don't want to go thru that again.

Glad your back on the wagon.
You said your mate gave you a drink. When you say your mate I am assuming you mean your friend as opposed to your spouse?
In Canada mate usually means spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend.
When I am bored and alone I usually come here and read and post. It isn't the most exciting thing to do but what it is is what it is.
