a silly thread about simple graditude
this is going to sound silly! i am grateful for all i have, had in life, sobreity, kids, grandkids, i can go on and on!''but the simple things in life make me the happiest! i bought a watch at wallmart, cost 7$, had been keeping me eye on it since it was $15? that was 2 weeks ago and am still thrilled w/it, weird huh.
my kids and i grew up poor, no CS? so it is so hard for me to spend $$ on myself! it just amazes me how thrilled i get by little things, money wise? i have always been thrilled bout the sun rising, setting and the mircale of life! my pets, etc..............
but to be so happy that i have a $7 watch, and btw it looks kewl, well that inspires me to be more grateful, just for everyday, and that i am sober and ALIVE! hugs to all that reads this and to them that don't! luvs :ghug

This thread is not silly at all! I have always took pride in my "simple little" things that I have. Especially ever since my Hubby and I lost our jobs back in Oct of 2008 (we both worked for the same company 18+ years).
I just bought a $8 (backpack style) purse from Walmart last month and I keep telling my hubby how much I love my new little purse...lol.
I just had to respond to this thread, because I'm the same way and you reminded me of myself...thanks for sharing, I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one :ghug3
Take care and God Bless!
XOXO

I too am grateful for the simple things in my life. Like when I see the beauty in a tall tree growing among the grit of the city. I am reminded that life can often thrive in some very unusual places.
