I found a treatment center in Nevada that will help me. I'm going through withdrawals. I don't know what is real and not. I just called again and they confirmed that I do have a bed. I need to take care of my dog and my two birds. I'm sorry that I'm so out of it. I have tried not to drink except when the shaking gets too bad. I will go tomorrow. I'm scared to death right now.

I will do anything to get better. Anything. I have to get through tonight so I can function to go tomorrow. Can you help me?

I'm sorry. I have to calm down. I do have a treatment bed. I have been drinking only enough to stop withdrawals. It makes it hard to function.

I am able to stop for a few hours at a time. I called my son who is at college to tell him I have to go to treatment. He is angry and hurt. I understand that.

I am willing to let everything go. Including my job. I need to get through tonight so I can get myself to treatment. I really do surrender. I am so sick of being so sick.

I'm not sure what I can do to help you other than to let you know you're not alone and I'm proud of you for making this decision to help yourself.That's really great and I hope it goes well for you.

Have you got someone to look after your animals while you're gone? Just a thought-they obviously matter to you very much.

You can do this.You deserve a better life and I hope this is the beginning for you.

No Carol. I had a beer about an hour ago. I am shaking a little bit. I really want to go to treatment. I have to make it through the morning.

I think Carols point about the water and the fruitjuice and gatorade is a good one - I can't imagine you need to drink up big to stave off withdrawal, and you need to be sober to get to Nevada, so take it easy.

I'm really pleased and proud for you taking this step. Like Jules said, you do deserve a better life and I hope this is the start of it too

Thanks Jules. I am so sick. I know that I need help. I have to give my animals to the Humane society. I called them and they said it was to late to pick them up today. I am very lucky that a treatment center told me they would take me. It is several hundred miles away and I have to be able to get there. I have called mental health and they sa y they will help me get there tomorrow. I have to get through tonight. I shake and twitch and hate myself.

I am so sorry mtn.I can't imagine being in your position-but I understand.Obviously this is life or death for you and you have a chance and you're taking it.

I just pray this works out for you and again, good for you doing whatever it takes for you to heal.

Dee, I don't plan to drink to get drunk. I have had a six pack of beer that has lasted for about 10 hours. There is still three beers left. I feel awful for hurting my son. I'm not tryng to get drunk. I feel lower then I can describe.
I will give up everything to get well. I'm sure that part of what I feel is fear and that is why I am shaking so bad. I called the treatment center again, because I didn't believe they would really take me. They will.

It's like an animal shelter for abandoned animals.They take in strays, unwanted pets etc.

Oh right i know what you mean now, like the rspca in the UK then, take animals in and try and find them new homes...got it. That sounds cool, you won't have to worry about them mtnmagic. It is sad i know but you have to get yourself better, that's for sure!!!!

I'm just concerned for mntn because it seems they are having to give up everything-and possibly the life of the pets they love-in order to get sober.

I truly hope there's a chance they can get them back.I know how much they mean.

Thank you Carol. I am really on my knees praying. I can't drink anymore. I know that I could go to the hospital if it gets that bad. Actually it is that bad. I feel horrible.

mt, drink as litle beer as you can, and as mentioned plenty of H2O

i have gone through this, and as you mentioned, the alcoholism's fear of impending doom, that translates into anxiety, that is really fear that causes the shakes...

also the chemical detoxing...

just be careful...

and dont bail out on going...

Maybe you need more help right now.There's no shame in getting it. Don't try to tough it out if you really don't think you can handle it.There are people who can help you and you don't need to put your life at risk.

Maybe going to a hospital would be good.
