SR motivation

i have been reading in the new to addiction forum mostly every day. i fomd the beauty of this is the motivation i get, that otherwise i would be dealing with my own thoughts and the demon inside. evertime i come here i am more encouraged. there are many like me, some better and some worse. this is the beauty of this place. there are some really genuine folks out there. many of these people have quit but still come back to help thise if us who are struggling. this is trully a teacher student environment.
i am giving in to my demons for no rational reason, other that i am used to drinking on weekends. i don't do much of anything else and find it difficult. also when i am sober im am like...blah... i think this is a part of why i can't stay sober. i have seeked out a holistic Doctor who, hopefully, will help.
i am drinking now and hope this isn't coming off like some weird drunk text message. Thanks...

Thanks Johnsin for your post!

I find the same thing that you do. Every time I come here, and it has been for years, I find something that inspires me. The people here are some of the best people I've met in my life. There is genuine gratitude here and genuine support. We are all here to help each other and to help ourselves.

I hope you find your way and that you continue to read and post.

I couldnt agree with you more.
This place has saved me more times than I can tell you. Not only by preventing me from using at times. But also to not give up.
And the people I have met and formed bonds with are like family.
Nowhere near sounding like a weird text message.
It sounds like alot of gratitude. And thats always a great thing.

"used to drinking on weekends."

Well, I used to do that, too. That was 9 years ago when I was married and had responsibility.

Yet my married time went from just say 4-6 beers on a Friday or Saturday night to oblivion. Now it's like 12 drinks in 6 hours!

Do your math. Is it worth it?
