Thumbs up TOPIC: Don't Bother Me, I'm Watching Tiger Woods. :)

Hi Im Sharon and Im an alcoholic.

Years ago you wouldn't catch me
watching much tv, esp. golf.

No way no how....Drinking kept
me on the go all the time except
if i had a hangover. Then all I wanted
to do was sleep..... zzzzzzzz

At about 8 yrs sober i had relocated
to Houston with my little family and
thus began having interest in tv reality
shows and sports....

Baseball with the Astros, Golf with Tiger
Woods, Nascar with Dale Earnheart Jr.
then not much more on sports

Golf is a very calming kind of sport to
listen to and watch on tv. And if u have
a favorite player then u want to follow
their game from start to finish.

Tiger is back in the swing but not quite
up to full par yet. Milkelson is in the lead
right now.....

Tiger hang on, u still have tomorrow to
play... You've won this tournament
3 times in a row so far, so we know u
can bring it on...lol

Anyone else watching Golf, Tiger?

on that trip and had a blast.
Worked my azz off pulling up
2 fish at a time....Awesome
and rewarding trip.

Yesterday was the Milkelson
Show.....hopefully today will
be the Tiger Woods Show...

Then you have to watch paint dry...

I've never been able to just watch sports... much less the slower ones.

Golf

I love to watch the big tournaments on TV like the Masters, I actually got to go to the Masters about 20 years ago. Don't remember much cause I got drunk, but I'm pretty sure it was nice, I believe Bernard Langer won. These days, I'm more likely to pull for Phil Mickelson rather than Tiger though. Not that I don't like Tiger, but when he is on his game, nobody else can touch him and it sorta makes it boring to watch him win by 10 strokes or more.

I love Dale Earnhardt Jr mainly because his dad was my favorite driver and Jr is a lot like him, except he doesn't win as often. I'm still hoping he is going to get it turned around though. I was so glad to see him get away from Teresa, I think she treated him unfairly. Anyway, no race to watch this weekend, but a good one next weekend. Have a nice day!

Bah! Golf! If I want to watch a real sport! A manly sport! A sport full of savagery and bloodlust! Where only the most cold blooded cutthroats of men can survive I'll watch THIS!!

Football and rugby are ok sometimes too, but nothing beats the sport of chess!

Don't live that far from St Andrews, home of Golf.

Always used to run out of balls as I had my bag full of beer, haven't played since I got sober, be interesting to see if I'm any good when I've not got a bottle of vodka and a rake of cans in the bag.

Probably not to be honest, but me bag will be lighter !!!!!!!!

I like to watch the challenges on Survivor and the Miss Universe pageant. Some of the Miss Universe contestants were good sports and lost their crowns for it.

Phil just won the tourney today. Tiger's game will come around, he's still coming back after his rehab-physical rehab not substance I love the game and now that I'm sober, playing awesome.
I sure do MISS the NFL and college football, it's like I'm in mourning over it...

It was a close game today with Watney....

Watney had a few good shots but no
cigar.....however 2nd isnt bad.

Tiger will be back im sure.....

I love to see the new young guys
coming into their game and moving
up.

Same as it is with recovery....I respect
the newcomers coming in and reaching
out for help...or realize they are over
their head with drugs and alcohol and
come in for help.

We all have memories associated with
our drinking or drugs....we associate
drinking or drugging when we played
sports, went to school, peer pressure,
jobs, families....we remember the romantic
times when we were under the enfluence.
We remember the horrible times too.

The accidents that we had. Tickets we
got, arguements, fights....

All i have to do is play my tapes back
and realize that alcohol was nothing
but trouble for me. It quit working for
me and led me down a spirling path
of self destruction.

I know for a fact today that I can never
drink alcohol sucessfully. To me all i see
on those pretty bottles or cans is the
skull and cross bones with the word in
large letters....POISON.

That's it.

Tiger is alright but I don't know he is borderline arrogant and well I just don't like arrogant people. I used to like David Duval then he wins the British Open and fell off the map. I don't know what happened to him. Now I'm a Zach Johnson fan. I think he'll be the one to start challenging Tiger here in the next couple of years.

I'm pretty well a fan of all sports. Unfortunately, I'm a Bengals fan but who knows maybe they pull another season out of their ass this year like they did in 2005. If Palmer doesn't go down I could have easily seen them in the Super Bowl. But I've got the Reds this Spring and Summer and they're expected to be greatly improved so I'm excited for that.

They do have a few young guys playing
well these days and could possibly be the
next upcoming Tiger Woods .

I had to fuss at him a few minutes ago when
he miss the hole with a bunker shot.

He though his club down to his bag in
disgust.....

Maybe he needs some Anger Management
classes
