I hardly ever post but read often and I wanted to take this opportunity to say I always look forward to your words.
I have become very cynical over the years and usually don't want to hear or believe anything a addict says. But I must say that I am very impressed with you and your journey. You are frank about what it takes to get clean and stay clean. no excuses.
I wanted to say thank you

I lurve to read the wisdom that is Anvilhead! I imagine my head upon a huge, iron anvil, and a huge forge hammer coming down, smashing my brains like a walnut, and it feeling strangely good, like a release of toxins. I picture my head smashing, but instead of splatting brains, there are a million shards of crystal, all shining like rainbows.
I know, weird imagery.
I know Anvilhead is a good, loving person, because she has puppies (young and old, that is)! That's really all I need to know. Oh, and that she's beating this beast we label addiction, and another we label codependency.
Great job, Anvilhead, and thanks for your many wise prodding posts!
Oh, and thanks for this thread; I've just been waiting to say this. I'm kinda shy about starting my own topics.

Well, I'm kinda partial, 'cause Anvil's my buddy...whenever I need my butt kicked, I just e-mail her and tell her "go ahead....kick my a$$"
We've been through a lot of stuff, and she's always been there for me, whether it's addiction or codie related. I am amazed at how she always knows the right things to say, here. No one can say it like Anvil
Hugs and prayers!

I, too, draw on the strength and courage and the amazing insight and candidness that I receive from Anvil -- thank you -- I hope you realize how much you are truly helping others

with Anvil - I love the fact that she tells you "how the cow at the cabbage"
which I know is hard for some to swallow.
But what many don't know is that she has also always been one of the first ones to let me know when I am beating myself up over something that isn't my responsibility or my guilt to carry.
She is great encourager and I'm praying one day to be able to cook her a BIG ole pot of Rita's famous gumbo~
yes, if Hank is on his best behavior we might let him have a bowl too!! lol

Anvilhead.. I'm new here.. but I've been lurking and I wanted to say "Thank You" aswell. You and I seem much alike with our bold personalities - (I'm a codie) and I look forward to getting to know you and all the wonderful people here.
