Question Why do you log on here every day?

Is it because, you've developed friends?

Want to share? Need advice?

Just curious as to why, you stay active on the site??

I log on because it keeps me focused on what I'm doing and why. It reminds me of where I've come from and who I can possibly be. Most of the time I don't actually post, just read.

Because this is the best place for me to vent and learn from others who are like me who either love a person with an addiction or suffer from it.

I come on to look for the advice and support from others.. Wouldn't mind gaining some friends in the process. Coming on here makes me feel like I'm moving forward instead of dwelling on my mistakes in my past.

- because I have lots of friends here
- because I need to read where people are struggling, to remind me of why I don't want to go back to using
- because I always read something that's exactly what I needed to hear that day
- because I hope that my ES&H may help someone else that's struggling
- because no matter how bad things have gotten in my life, during my recovery, I've come to SR, and the great people here have walked beside me and gotten me through it...clean.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

It reminds me that i am not alone and it's nice to post experiences in the hope that it may help someone else whilst allowing me to talk about alcoholism openly and honestly without trying to explain it for the 10th time to a norm!

Hi Cap!
I worked the steps before I found this place. This forum is a super recovery tool and I wish I had found this site a long time ago. I come here to learn, share and help others where I can. I really like the fact that it is open to all methods of recovery and supportive of everyone.

How's that lake temperature up there? Spring is already stated in South Texas but it is cold today!

i was coming here almost daily until i had some personal stuff come up then i stopped, either from stress, guilt, or all of the above- but i love it here because of the support and to remind me that sobriety is very real, and can be achieved. i come from a family background of early death (alcohol/drugs), and recovery, and current bumps in the road (i have a teenager AGHHH!).

This pretty much wraps up my experience at SR also.

Kinda new, was told about this place by a friend. It's nice to talk to people out there that commit to sobriety. Maybe I'll be able to offer some words of encouragement too..

Coming here is as important to me as having breakfast is...

It is the very nourishment I need to carry me through the day...

Without SR, and my other support system A.A, I know that I would be doomed for failure...

Great topic...

To see your cute little face sitting on the fireplace. Wait! That's not a fireplace, is it?

SR has been a vital part of my recovery and I like to give back what was so freely given to me.

I have made dear friends here with people I would have never met if I had not come.

There is a magic at SR that cannot be found anyplace else, and I am grateful to all the people who make it possible to come here each day. :ghug

Love you all for just showing up and letting SR happen.

Hugs

I found this place after a couple years of sobriety, I was looking for something to give my serenity a little boost during my workday, to alleviate the "stinking thinking" that was coming about from surfing the net and looking at things that triggered me.

I had no idea how much SR would change my life. As Carol and a couple others have shared, this place has become a vital addition to my 12-Step program of recovery in AA.

It's a peaceful island, a safe place to weather the storm. I've made so many friends here, and I'd better not forget to mention that my fiance and I met each other here. I love this place, thank you all for being here.
