Well since I posted my last good news update.... that was probably not a good idea, inviting fate and bad karma....
One of the really good Supervisors at work left and my call volume has doubled. My dog had a growth on his snout that the Vet thought was cancer, scared the heck outta me. Then my Mother went into the Hospital again for diverticulitis. While my Mom was in the hospital between visiting her every day and getting pounded at work, I decided to spend mega bucks on an operation for my dog then took him in for surgery. As it turns out Milo did not have cancer and will be around for a while. Good news...
But... my Mother suddenly passed away two days after being treated and released from the hospital. I spoke with her in the morning but she didn't answer her phone in the evening and that wasn't right, so I went over and found her at the kitchen table, looked like she finished her lunch then laid her head down and went to sleep. The paramedics said she probably didn't know what hit her. Her heart just quit.
Some of you who met her know that we were really tight. I'll miss her terribly along with scores of other people whos lives she touched. She was ahead of her time and was loved by many. She left this world with her independence and dignity intact and didn't suffer her biggest fear of wasting away in some nursing home like her Mother and my Father.
She had her own thoughts on spirituality and wanted a celebration of her life, not a funeral. So we had one last party at her house and over sixty people showed up shared in the celebration. So now I'm settling her affairs and still getting pounded at work. I doubt I'll ever make another "things are great " post again...

OH Jazz,
I am so sorry about the loss of your mom. As you know, I lost mine last month and it's still really fresh and raw.
Be gentle with yourself in these next few days and weeks. It's amazing how exhausting grief and stress can be.
BIG hugs

I am sorry, Jazzman, I am holding you in my thoughts and prayers.
What a wonderful tribute to a lady of grace. May the good memories and wonderful lessons remain in your heart forever.
Hugs

I'm so sorry for your loss. My mom too did not want to be dependent on anyone and I used to worry about that as she got older. She died suddenly in a car accident and knowing that she enjoyed life right until her death was, in time, of comfort.
Your mother sounds like an amazing woman and the lasting impact she has had on your life will serve you well. be very kind to yourself...I'm so sorry that work stress is at the max right now. Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers for comfort.

I'm very sorry to hear the bad that has recently happened. Along with everybody I hope you get better. I know it sounds like a broken record probably but as hard as it is, just try to focus on the good things and happy thoughts about your mother anytime you feel too much sadness or anxiety.
It's not always a bad thing though. If your really upset it shows just how much you care. Which is a positive thing. Try to think about it that way =)

So sorry for your loss Jazzman, I'm going through grief right now too, but you and I both will make another 'things are great' post! People keep telling me, and I believe them, things will get easier and it wont always look so bad.

On the one hand, I am so glad you will have your Milo around for a good long time. I'd be lost without my four legged companions.
I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother. I have not had that experience yet, so I don't know what it's like to be in your shoes. :ghug :ghug
