A few prayers if you will
A few prayers if you will
My son has court tomorrow...charges for his OD. Apparently its illegal to overdose these days. I can understand possession is possession even if the drugs are in you but I wonder how many will not call 911 out of fear?
Anyway, he goes alone tomorrow. He may face VOP, but he recently paid off his fines (quite a hurdle for a drug addict) so he may not be in violation. He also just earned insurance this quarter, and immediately went to a sub Dr. to set up treatment.
He's trying. I would like to see him have the opportunity to see this through.
I'm his mom, and am rooting for him of course.
I recently lost my father, who is now with my mom and I know they are both watching over him now.
But I thought a few more prayers wouldn't hurt

Prayers for you and your son cece.
Moms need all the support in the world, just as I've said to winnie, I don't know how you handle it with your child.
From the bottom of a mothers heart to yours, I pray for your peace, I pray that your baby finds his way, and gets well.
Love,
Cessy

Although it is against to law to try to commit suicide, I think they look, seriously, at actions taken SINCE the event, and it sounds like his show good ACTION toward recovery.
I'm sorry about your dad, but I'm glad you both have a couple of angels to watch over you.
Sending you, and your son, hugs and prayers!
Amy

I should probably mention that he has NOT been doing well. This has all transpired in the last week. But every mile begins with the first step, right?
This is the FIRST time I have managed to completely step away and let him handle it (asking for prayers is always allowed, right? ) When he called to tell me about the Dr visit I heard hope, and I know he wanted me to hear that he did something on his own.
Maybe there's something to the belief that we get in the way.
Deep down, I wouldn't mind a rehab order. He has the insurance now and he can still follow up with the sub if he feels necessary.
But that's not my decision to make.
I'll stick with my prayers, and am grateful to all here with yours

I agree with what Amy said. . . actions are what the courts mainly look at. You said he's paid off his fines and as soon as he got insurance, he's gotten treatment set up. I think if he was just sitting back and not making any positive changes then the court may feel they have no other choice.
And remember, sometimes things happen that we just don't understand what God's purpose is in the outcome. Acceptance comes to mind here. But I seriously feel everything will be fine.
I hope you'll let us know what happens.
God Bless You Both,
Judy

You and your son have an extra dose of my prayers Cece. I've found often times things don't work the way I was hoping, but in retrospect they work the way they were supposed to. God's really quite imaginative.
I'm really glad to hear he took that step to meet with the sub doctor. Lots of prayers as both of you move forward through this recovery jouney.

Cece, I'll be keeping your son and you in my prayers tomorrow. We wouldn't be loving moms if we weren't concerned for our children, but thank the Lord recovery has taught us that we have to step back and let them find their way.
I know in my life the only time progress has been made by me or by my AD was when I got WAAAAAAY out of the way and let her figure out her life on her own. But keep in mind the "getting out of the way" was for MY sanity, not to try and produce certain results in her. I pray that your son goes tomorrow and feels good about handling this on his own, no matter what happens.
And I agree with Greet....God is so creative and never works in the way I would. But I know His plan is best, so I have to trust and accept.
Hugs,
Hangin' In

Like Greet and Hangin', I believe that God's gifts come strangely wrapped sometimes and I am thinking there is a big gift about to appear here.
You and your son are in my prayers always. :praying
