hi
hi, I don't really know where to start so i'll try and make sense but sorry if it don't.
I'm Serenity, I have many different illness (cfs,ibs,pcos,nuralgia,maniers disease & rheumatoid arthritis), I am in constant pain everyday so i have been on prescription for co-codamol since i was 12 when my illnesses started then i was on 8mg 8times a day.
But three years ago my pcos was causing me so much pain because of the cycsts and a doctor in my surgery put me stright up to 30mg eight times a day.
Didn't give me any warning how strong they were, and before i knew it i was fininshing them a few days before my knew script was due, and now as it stands i finish about 10days before my script is due ,so things are going in the wrong direction and i want to put a stop to it know while i feel i still can.
Because i live at home with my parents I haven't been able to hide it for long which is a good thing.
So I am going to start cuting down this week on my own, and then go back to the doctor to see if he can alter my pain medication to something that don't contain codeine.

Glad you are here, girl! It was good to read that you SEE you have a problem, you're SHARING about your problem and you'll be talking to your doctor about all this!
You are making huge strides!!! When we deal with drugs/alcohol...our addictions, we NEED support...Doing "clean and sober" on our own is not a safe place because of how our mind is wired!
So glad you made it here with us who get ya thru and thru!

I'm glad you will be asking your doctor for help. In the meantime, read and post and take it one day at a time. Have you checked out the substance abusers forum? Lots of good experience there. I'm just a recovering wino so don't know about pills.
