Can I make it through day 8?

Hi there everyone,
Well, today is day 8...Please don't get mad at me for saying this. But, for some reason I really want a beer...who am I kidding, I want more than one.
I'm craving that "buzz" feeling. There is no real reason as to why I feel this way. My day is going pretty good, I'm staying busy around the house.
Even staying busy and having a cold one is pretty fun (at least for me it is).
Maybe it has something to do with the weather...it's pretty gloomy here.
Yuck, I don't like days like these...I want the sunshine. Then again, the sunshine makes me want to drink too.
Sorry if this sounds silly, it's just the way I feel.
Thanks for reading this,
Hugs to you all :ghug
XOXO

ADAY....

No one is going to get mad at you for posting this! It's not silly either! WE ARE ALCOHOLICS!!! This is how and what we think!!!

Just play that tape through... all the way first! Think of what happened or what's been happening in your life right before you decided to get sober 8 days ago. A "couple" of beers always sounds good... I wouldn't be here if I could drink just a "few"!!! A couple, a few leads to 24/7 drinking around the clock for me... No life... No love.... Guilt, shame, the baseball bat beating the he** out of me..... No thank you, today!

You can get through this! This WILL NOT LAST!! Pray that God removes the obsession for alcohol from you! Hang in there and stay here with us! Do you have any sober friends or go to AA? That's a suggestion I highly recommend!

CUNNING, BAFFLING, POWERFUL!!!!........Without help, it's too much for us!

:praying

We are glad you came here and posted this. This is the exact time when you should post.
Your addictive Voice is calling you and you have to tell it to take a hike.
It is good at remembering the good things about drinking but not the bad parts and the aftermath.
You are at a crucial stage and this is where you have to take back your life.
Shut that addictive voice out right now and it will come calling less and less as it gets to know how serious you are.

YES! This has helped me more than once!!!

first drink, second drink all the way to the 12th or 15th drink and then...fun time over.

I'm so grateful that I can remember the whole party and don't have to worry that I offended someone or did something awful!!

Thanks for replying Nicki and Fubarcdn,
I ended up going out into the kitchen grabbing a yogurt and a string cheese stick.
I'm the kind of person, if I get something to eat, no drinking for me. I don't like mixing food and alcohol...Ewwww!
I think that I just felt a little bored and wanted to change my mood.
I think that I will be ok now.
Hubby and I are getting ready to go up and play a couple of lottery numbers...Hope we hit!
Anyway, Day 8 is here to stay...at least that's what I'm going to keep telling myself.
Thanks again for listening.
Love ya guys!

XOXO

I'm also from Ohio and it is kind of rainy and grey out today.

The others are absolutely right: think it thru before picking up that first drink. It will lead you right back into the hell from which you're emerging now... and you don't want to go back there.

Posting before you pick up is a wonderful thing - glad you did it. Just don't drink today!:ghug3

I think a lot of people here WANT to drink, many choose not to. I hope you choose not to, too!

Least,
Well, Hello neighbor!
I don't like gloomy days like these...I'm more into the sunshiny days (Come on Spring!)
It did help to post here instead of just grabbing a beer right off the bat.
I figured that if I came out and shared it with a group (my family) that understood, that I would be ok.
I think I want another string cheese stick now....lol.
Hugs and thanks for replying.

Ok but just ONE more cheesestring. You never know what will happen if you string too many of those together.
OK that wasn't funny I am sorry but I tried.

If you drink today you will most likely wake up with a whopping hangover and plenty of remorse for breaking your resolve. And then tomorrow, you will need to go through a mini withdrawal period and maybe you will drink tomorrow and the day after and so on. Don't do it, it's just not worth it. That buzz you crave can cost you dearly - it's not worth it.
