I am going to rehab for 90 days!!
Yeah, this is a big deal to me, so I may as well share this. You people have all helped me to see the light. I realized last night, while posting blitzed out of my mind (sorry!), and getting feedback from everyone around me that I need HELP, that I have to do it. Anyway, it is exciting and scary, if you know what I mean. I don't know how I'll feel or what I'll think, but I figure it's do this or die!!

So glad to hear that you're seeking help in your recovery Katie. If you think rehab will work, then by all means do it. And remember that your friends on SR will be here when you're done. Please check in and let us know how you're doing

Good for you Katie and once again I am glad for you.
It is great you can bring your pets.
If your computer was a Commodore 64 you would definitely be able to bring it. That is probably before most of your time so you won't get the connection unless you google it and then only maybe.

Boy, back in Aug. 90 when i was
hauled away to rehab in the back
of a police car, i didnt bring anything
with me cause i didnt know i would
be staying 28 days away from my
family.
The family did bring me some of my
things, make up, cologne, clothes,
hair dryer etc.
My first night in the crazy ward
they didnt allow me to have
anything only because i had tried
to end my life the night before
from being drunk.
Mio, me hurt myself...never....
However they had to monitor me
the next day.
I was behind fenced windows and
filled in sockets.....I felt like a
prisoner.
The next 27 days was the same except
i was in the Alcoholics ward. More
freedom. No pets. I didnt leave
the primises till i was 2 weeks sober
and i was brought to a meeting and
brought back.
Today, rehab seems different.
Anyway....i did recieve the tools
and knowledge of my disease and
was set on the path of recovery.
I wasnt cured nor ever will be.
However my disease is manageable
day by day.
You will learn how it is important the
steps will be in ur life and how important
sharing ur own experiences and
strenghts with the new comers will
give them hope.
Your life will improve dramatically
when u begin helping others with
the tools and knowledge u will
be recieveing in treatment.
Be kind to urself and take it
one day at a time.
Remember the yesterdays r gone
and the tomorrows arent here yet.
All u have is this very day.
Wishing u the best.
