Hi I'm new...
Hi
I'm new here, and to forums in general...I'm searching around for some help I guess. I can't seem to stay away from alcohol for more than two days, and I'm really getting fed up with myself. So just reading around here, maybe posting a note or two will help me remember my good resolutions, and also help me to remember how awful I feel the day after !!!
I don't really know what more to say for the moment, so I'll go read some more. Catch you all later.

Welcome to the site! Depending on your drinking history it may be a good idea to have medical help in detoxing from alcohol. Sometimes antianxiety drugs are prescribed for a few days to ease the withdrawal. Maybe that could help you get past two days without alcohol.
There are also good recovery programs out there, the best known, of course, being AA. But there are others, tho not sure how widespread they are in Europe.

here is the link to the info on different recovery programs http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...-programs.html

Hi, I am also fairly new here (returning SERIOUSLY this time) and I can say that just reading and posting have helped me tremendously in the past week, I know how you feel because I could never get beyond 3 days before... had an eye-opening experience that convinced me I have to quit or I will die. I chose to live instead and have to say I feel so much better after just a week and I know you can do it too. Keep coming back and posting, there are so many understanding, supportive people here!
Hello and Welcome. Know you are in the same boat as many of us, but you will find great support here. I know that anytime I fall off the horse and drink, this is the first place I come back to. It is a struggle and every single day I just tell myself to not drink and share my experiences with my friends on SR. Hope to see you around.

Thanks for your welcomes, I do sincerely believe that reading through the messages will help me a lot! And I do know that every time I can stop drinking for only a few days I feel SOOO much better. I just cant seem to stay on the wagon...it's my bad attitude, but everyone has their faults, and that's mine. For the moment your encouragements will keep me going.
you don't have to 'stay on the wagon'..just don't drink today...and then tomorrow do the same thing...and then the next day and the next....and find some support group like here online or aa meeting or something....don't do it alone..you don't ever have to be alone again...welcome!
