Question TOPIC: What Part Of The World Are You From?

Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic
here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
One of the southern states near
the bottom of the United States
between Texas and Mississippi.

We are known for our Mardi Gras
festivities this time of the year.

We also serve up "mudd bugs"
know as Crawfish. Piping hot
with spices, new potatoes and
little ears of corn.

Our State bird is the Misquito...lol
Pelican and our flower is the lovely
Magnolia.

What part of the World do u live in?

I'm from where the air is actually clean, a mesquite is a bush, Tex-mex is the food of choice, the scenery is only broken by an occasional pumpjack and the nearest river is about 60 miles away. The summers are hot, the fall and winter are perfect and in spring we just try not to blow away into Oklahoma.

I'm from Lake Tahoe (California side)! I live 1 mile from Heavenly Ski Resort -- absolutely beautiful here! Summers don't get hotter than 85ish (but remember the altitude - it'll fry ya). Winters are snowy/cold but are drier than the Eastcoast. The food???... it depends on what I'm cookin'.

Mountains of Central Pennsylvania....the winters here are tough, but the spring, summer and fall are so glorious, that it just about makes up for it!!! The air is clean, you can see millions of stars, and we are farmers....so everything is home grown...we have our own orchard, the "kitchen garden" covers an acre, we have dairy cows and chickens and my husband has a small butchering shop in one of the barns. We aren't known for much, except a hillbilly reputation, but that's the way we like it! Wouldn't trade "home" for anything!

Madison, WI, which is about two hours north of Chicago. Last winter we broke the all-time annual snowfall record, and this past December we broke the all-time snowfall record for any one month. I love it. On the negative side, it's also the worst in the US when it comes to binge-drinking and alcohol-related deaths.

About 45 miles Southeast of Cheyenne in Colorado. Jackrabbits, Coyotes and Tumbleweeds. In the middle of it all is out thriving metropolis which consists of a bar, post office a gas station and a welding shop. Thankfully there's a Stop Sign so you don't miss it when you're passing through.
On the bars menu is Rocky Mountain Oysters. (Bull Nuts) All you can eat on Sundays for ten bucks.

I wanna live there!!

I was born in Highland Park, IL in 1964 and our family moved to Arizona in 1970. Except for a brief stint in Boston from 92-93 I've lived in the Phoenix area since then, I love it here and wouldn't consider anywhere else my home.

East Coast, North Island, New Zealand. Farm life, own garden, orchard. chickens. Deep sea game fishing, back country hunting, temperate climate. The Kiwi (a flightless bird) is our native bird. We excell in rugby ( a game where they lick around an oval ball - completely foreign to most in US !! lol) we do really well in ocean sailing (Americas Cup) We're small but hold a clean, green reputation. Love it here. Come on over ya-all..

I'm in Toronto Canada.

The word "Toronto" is actually an Indian term for "we have a crappy hockey team"

Great post! Here goes, Washington State. Home of the first revolving restaurant (space needle), Bill Gates, Starbucks, Amazon.com and the largest building in the world (Boeing's Everett plant). Big on seafood and chowder. Skiing in the winter, beaches in the summer. Some of the rainiest forests in the Olympic Penisula. State bird the goldfinch, tree the hemlock, insect the dragonfly and mammal the orca. I grew up in Olympia on a farm. Hayed the fields, fished, rode horses, 4Hed and all the fun things a country kid gets to do.
