Introduction
Hi, I am new. I posted in another thread, but it isn't showing up. So I figured I would try to just introduce myself and see if that works before I write out a whole long thing again. Well I'm the daughter of an alcoholic and I came here for support. I guess thats me for now.

Welcome to SR. You've definitely come to a great place for support and encouragement. As the daughter of an alcoholic you may be interested in checking out the Friends and Family section of the forum as well when you have a chance. Please feel welcome to post and read as much as you like. Once again welcome and glad to have you here at SR.

Do you drink yourself or just a family member who drinks? Either way there's lots of support here. Besides the Friends and Family of alcoholics there's a forum for Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA). Give that forum a read and see what you find.

I don't drink myself, except maybe once in awhile. It's my mom who is the alcoholic. I posted in the friends and family section about everything thats going on right now. I figured I would introduce myself here though. I wasn't sure if this was for friends and family too. Well thanks for all of the support from everyone so far. It's much appreciated. Thanks
Pandora, I'm sure if anybody can help you understand your mom a little better, it would probably be us. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
I appreciate you posting. It makes me face my own situation and serves as a reminder why I have to stop. My daughter is 10. God I hope I'm quitting early enough she won't remember dad popping beers open at 10 o'clock in the morning.
