My First Night
Tonight is my first night sober...or at least the first night I said no. I went to the liqour store today...bought a bottle of vodka...and was so disgusted at myself that I didn't take a drink. I couldn't throw it out though because I know I might want it tomorrow....

Welcome...:
Have you considered having an honest talk with your doctor
about your drinking patterns? Withdrawing from alcohol
is a medical issue and can be dangerous.
Please read this link for information

Be both safe and sober...

I agree. Throw it out. No better yet. Dump it down the drain.
If you were disgusted today by just buying it and not drinking it. Imagine how much more disgusted you will be tomorrow if you decide to drink.
You can make it so that bottle isnt sitting there tomorrow tempting you.
Glad you are here.

Congratulations on your decision to not drink tonight. In answer to your question, how do you get through tomorrow. . . worry about that tomorrow. This is a One Day at A Time Program.
I know that sounds pretty ridiculous at first, it did to me. For as long as I can remember, I worried about everything . . . the past, present and the future.
I really hope you will pour that out tonight, or if someone is with you, maybe they could pour it out for you so you don't have to smell it. Holding onto it is risky, it's like setting yourself up to drink it later, tomorrow, the next day, next week . . .
I'm glad you found us and found the courage to share what's going on with you. Stick around, you can be one of our Miracles.
God Bless,
Judy
Gonna have to agree on the throwing it out bit. Much better for your sink to process the vodka than your liver and brain (and everything in between!).
Medical help can be a good start, a scary yet honest talk with your doctor could possibly set you on a great path of recovery.

Pouring it out is the best thing you can do tonight. I know you don't want to waste the money you spent on it nut if you really want to quit you are never going to need it again anyways.
We have all been in your shoes and we are all trying to hever have that first drink again. It isn't easy but it is worth it.

Welcome to of family. You need to pour out that Vodka. It will be so liberating while you watch all that poison go down the drain. Do it for yourself and you will be better off for it.
