Fires

There are bush fires burning all around the area I live in, I am ok as is my house and my neighbours, still keeping an eye out which is hard as smoke is everywhere, but the whole area is burnt out and still burning, over 100 people are dead and many injured and many houses burnt.

I am sort of numb I think, the place I have lived for over 11 years has gone its changed entirely.

Plese keep the people affected and fighting the fires in mind.

I've been watching the Australian fires on the news today, here in Canada.

It looks very bad. Very scary. Devastating.

I think its only me (SR member) in the Fire affected area, all the fires are in Victoria and the worst are around North East Victoria (Broadford and Kilmore) where I live and Gippsland to the South East and in The mountains to teh North of me

They are still looking for bodies, its really grim.

Wil keep you updated if I can. A friend in Melbourne just suggested that I lock the house up and bring myself and the dogs down to Melbourne. I am thinking about it.

I just looked at AdelaideNow (that Nikki posted) & learned alot. I admit I wasn't paying full attention when it was on our news earlier - had no idea it was intentionally set. Thank you for letting us know, Kevin, when you're in danger yourself. Praying for all to find safety and the fires to be put out soon.

Hoping you seriously consider it, Kevin. Just in case... Fires are just too unpredictable as are the crazy actions of others.

There's a town just outside of Philadelphia PA -- within an hour of my home so in the local news -- where 23 fires have been intentially set in 2009. Luckily -- there aren't trees, grasses, etc. nearby to complicate the issue or cause mass the need for mass evacuations.

Please be careful.

O my word...

Hello Kevin...This is Pancake..I am really new hear on SR. I am terribly sorry for the devastation in your country with fires right now. I did not realize what was going on over there. How very frightening it must be constantly fearing that you may have to leave your home to escape at any time. You will be in "my thoughts and prayers" that hopefully an end to this will come and soon!
