Smile A.A. the ONLY requirement for membership..

from my grandpa's big book.. (foreward to the first edition) "the ONLY requirement for membership is an *HONEST desire to stop drinking. we are not allied with any particular faith, sect or denomination, nor do we oppose anyone. we simply wish to be helpful to those who are afflicted"
i hope that might be of some help to someone..

The "honest" is not in the newer editions, right? Makes since to me. How can you not be honest about wanting to stop drinking? Even if you are not done you may still honestly want to stop.

It would be nice if all AA groups actually put this into practice.

Hey if you have a first edition Big Book and it is in good condition, it could be worth a lot of money. What printing is it?

A first edition first printing will go for $15k on ebay.
