One whole week

Today is my 7th day sober
I have to say SR is a miracle, but I also followed up with AA meetings.
I have been to 3 AA meetings and started a big book study.
I am trying to surround my self with people who have been successful in the program and people who know the program.
The big book study is 6 months long and I was so impressed with the leader I asked him to be my sponsor, he gave me his # and told me to call him everyday. We are going for coffee to "find out a little about each other".
I am so impressed with my self and all here who support me and push me in the right direction.
Even though I am feeling very strong, I know my disease is still lurking, because when I woke up and thought wow one week, time to celebrate and the bottle was what I thought about.
I don't want to drink as a matter of fact it sounds disgusting.

Congratulations on your whole week of sobriety. I'll be happy when I make it a whole week. But, for now I'm going to concentrate on making it through the rest of day two. I'm so happy for you and hearing you story does help encourage me and give me the hope that it is possible as long as I keep faith, hope, keep trying and stay determined not to give up on fighting the good fight and staying clean. Thank you for your story and giving a new guy some hope.
Wes

I'm with ya. I have those kind of fleeting thoughts too. I don't think we've met so I want to extend a warm welcome to you...Keep up the good work! :ghug3
