My 1st AA meeting.

I am at my 4th day and I am going to my first AA meeting, funny I first went to this meeting 8 years ago under court orders, I had pc1000 which was a program for people who had possession charges. I didn't drink then, From that point I quit the meth and started drinking.

I am very excited to go and share, and to seek out a sponsor. I am starting to see through the fog and feel almost 100%. Spirits are up and I am happy. Today was the first day I had off since I quit, I had a nice relaxing day. The massive heartburn seems to have gone away.
It's amazing all the medicines you have around to counteract the effects of drinking. Alkaseltzer, pepcid ac, pepto , Tylenol , anti hangover pills( chaser)
I haven't needed any of these lately.
I off to the meeting , talk to you later.

Oh it was great, I had been to this one years back. There were some faces I recognized. I was greeted with love and acceptance, and when I got to share It felt like the world had lifted off my shoulders.
At the end of the meeting I was given a big book, since I was the newest newcomer, and several people took the book and signed it, with things like "call any time" " you are here for a reason" Do not drink or use we are here for you". They have a big book study group at 6:45 tonight. The leader of the group asked me to come and said If I needed a sponsor I could likely find one there.

Last night I went with my wife to a place that looks out over the city, I never saw as clearly as I did last night the lights were brighter and much more vivid, It was like everything was in HD.
I'm even noticing things about my wife I had never noticed before.
I had been letting life slip by. tears are coming out as I think about this.

My life is all about LIFE now, not about the bottle.

I am in debt to sr and all you who have supported me from hour one.
thank you all. :ghug

Awesome! All too often some of us forget why we go to AA. It's to be of use to someone and for newcomers to be of use to us. No one survives in AA without new people coming in to renew our commitments. I love every table with a newcomer under thirty days. You all do so much to keep me going that I credit you more than myself for my sobriety!

Thank God for all of you who are finding sobriety. I wouldn't have @R% without you or those who came before. Give me a metaphorical hand-in-hand god, and I swear I wont let you down! We'll beat this $@*( together or go trying!

Second AA meeting

Tonight was the 2nd AA meeting, I shared until the bell went off. It really works at taking the stress off. After the meeting there was a Big Book study, and amazing enough the were starting all over. The leader of the study was saying it's a 6 month work shop. That leader has been in the program 30 years and his goal is to help alcoholics, I had seen him before years ago. With everything he said, he drew me closer and closer until at the end of the night , I said I need a sponsor like you! He gave me his # and told me to call him everyday to touch bases. I know God put me with him.
I can't wait to live life the way God wants us to.
Stay sober and find your meeting.
Love and positive support to everyone.
Keep coming back it works!
