A Reminder, from the mouths of babes
A Reminder, from the mouths of babes
One of my facebook friends has this posted as her status right now:
<name>was telling her 1st graders the definition of "wind"(as in wind a toy)-one of them said, "If you drink too much wine, you'll get drunk."
One of her friends made a comment laughing, talking about cute that is. Someone else said the sad part is that the child has probably seen it first hand.
I agree with the second person. I don't think it's cute.

I would have to agree with you on this one too. One of the things I noticed when I was drinking too much was that my 4 year old asked me "Momma are you drinking wine?" Obviously I was doing it enough and she heard me say the word enough to were if she saw me drinking anything that wasn't water, she assumed that's what it was. My son is 11 and I know he noticed as well, he is very observant of what I do. It makes me sad, but it keeps me strong at the same time.
I have 5 little ones of my own. They aren't so little now. Same for me though, everything was beer except for water and milk. How sad. They would ask me when I was working in the garage or something, "Daddy?...Do you want me to get you a beer?"
Of course I said yes most of the time.
