Stick! I wish I had the perfect thing to say to you! The good news is you are still fighting the battle. Slowly but surely that mountain will look more like a mole-hill. And I would suspect your loved ones do know how hard you are struggling.

Sending good thoughts your way!

hi stick and welcome..

Dont beat yourself up too much..........lots of people wobble in the beginning.

And i include myself in that..

The good thing is you still want to stop......so keep trying.

No its not easy in the beginning but it does get easier.

Maybe you need to focus on that and just that........stopping drink is a diet right?.. try to take every day as a new day.

Keep posting and sharing...............trucker

Kudos to you for trying to be a super hero but you can't tackle a zillion things and expect to succeed! Start small. Instead of working on a promotion, shooting for a six pack (of abs,) and expecting to be clean in a year, make daily goals. Even hourly for that matter. You'll feel much more encouraged and happy with yourself once you start checking stuff off your list.

And this is just my opinion. I hope it helps some.

I wouldn't put too much on your plate in the beginning. Why try dieting and all when you're giving up drinking? You'll lose some weight naturally because of cutting out the calories form alcohol. That is as long as you don't replace it with calories from food.

Congratulations on trying!! Keep it up!

Stick...Just sending you some positive vibes. The first couple weeks or months for that matter just sux! Don't mess with too many other things at the same time. That will fall into place as your body and mind heals. You need sugar to replace all those stupid simple carbs in alcohol. Get some peppermints or hard cadies to have at hand to relieve that immediate urge. And it is just that, an urge, it will pass.

Are you going to any meetings, out patient treatment etc. or, are you doing this on your own?

Hi,

It was the hardest thing I've ever done too.

And, it's really hard for others to understand how difficult it is. That's one of the reasons that I come here. People her understand.
