Sober for Good on NPR
So I am new on here and posting is getting totally addicting. I don't go to meetings and it is wonderful to read everyone's varied experiences.
In honor of getting to fifteen postings so I can finally post a link I wanted to post something I mentioned in another posting. Anne Fletcher, the author of Sober for Good, a book I highly recommend to everyone and anyone was on the NPR radio show Talk of the Nation a few years ago. Also on that show was Devon Jerslid author of Happy Hours: Alcohol in a Woman's Life, another book I recommend. Anyway it is a good 45 minutes to listen to especially if you are new and trying to find your way and it is free.
Problem Drinking : NPR
Hope it is helpful.

After many years in recovery, you go for other people to help yourself.
I want to make a difference in other people's lives today
Not to say, people don't or can't find other means of recovery but, I strongly encourage service work to others volunteer work, donate blood etc.
That's the key to being serene
