I should have come here instead

What I should have done was come here, what I did instead was drink. So, now I am back on day 1. I was just going to stay away and not say anything, but I know that not telling you guys would have just made it worse. I think I need to focus on some of the other forums for now, but I will still check in here.

Good for you for posting, seeme. Most of us here have had our ups and downs before we got some time under our belt.

There's nothing like starting afresh. As I'm sure you're feeling, it never helps to drink and drags us further down.

I'm glad you're back.

So onwards and upwards. It's a new day.

Big hug for you,

Donna

Don't beat yourself up over it.
We're all fighting the same devil, there is no shame in it.
It's not a 'failure' at all. You can win the war.

Courage is having the strength to say, "I will try again."

This is part of your signature Seeme.

You can do it this time.

That's really brave of you to come straight back and start again

Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

I've promised myself that if I really feel that I am gonna drink I'm going to make myself come on here before I even buy any so that hopefully it will be enough to stop me

Welcome back, keep on trying......maybe identify what triggered it and try to steer clear of the same situation?

We are all here for you!:ghug2

The only failure is the failure to try. Keep trying!

I recently drank instead of sensibly coming here to vent and get thru the urge. Now I've vowed the same; to come here before giving in.

Your back and still trying, and thats what counts. You probably learned something from the slip, and better yet, you know what it feels like to have some sober time and that you can do it. Stay with us.

I'm so glad you posted today, Seemethrough! I've been off the mountain running around, and couldn't wait to get on here to see if you posted! I'm so happy you did and got it out here with all of us. I hope you'll keep in touch with me and let me know how you're doing! I support you 100% of the way, and so many others here definitely do too! Take GOOD care and know you are worth recovery, my friend! xoxoxox

I think the worst thing you can do is focus on OTHER forums!
Something brought yo back here, to make your truth. You should stay, you should come often, post when you feel weak, and when you feel strong!
Read when you need encouragement, ask when you want help!

People are here that want to help you stay on path.

Everything is gonna be fine SMT. Everything's gonna be fine.

We as your friends will help you to carry the burden.

Please though, keep coming back to the newcomers forum. I think we should rename it the Alcoholic's ER. So many people come and go. So many need help. By avoiding this forum you won't be able to help them. Helping others is the foundation of sobriety to me because you only get what you give. As the saying goes, "All the love you ever gave was only meant for you." It sounds selfish at first blush but the true meaning rings loud and clear to me. I believe it was the Moody Blues who sang that verse. One of my favorite bands of all time.

So please keep coming back and helping others who need your kind words of love and support. I hope you understand why that is so important.

Alcohol ER. I like that KenL.

The whole "lose a battle, win the war" analogy comes to mind SMT.

Keep fighting.

God bless.
