Drunk symptoms...no liquor

Today is the end of day eight for me, over a week.

Earlier today I was emotional. After I got home was out in the barn and felt like I was coming off a drunk, kind of hazy, moving slow you know? It's night now and my attention span and reaction time is not up to par, It's like I'm having symptoms of being lightly intoxicated....but no alcohol in 8 days.

First I've felt like this. Really weird.

Has anybody else experienced a non drunk, drunk?

Actually yes Jon. Yesterday and the day before I felt sort of like that. I was a little dizzy and tired. I'm not sure what caused it but I would rather be that way than the other way. It could just be our bodies adjusting to having no alcohol. And that is a very god thing.

By the way, congratulations on day 8!!

I still feel like that every once in a while. Usually I chalk it up to fatigue and stress, normal experiences that wouldn't worry normies. Check with your doctor if you're concerned.

Congrats on eight days!

Hey Jon, congrats on your sober time!

It wouldn't hurt to get in for a check up. Please take care of yourself.

(((masseyman & ken)))

Congratulations to the both of you on your Clean Time!

Have either of you went to a doctor since you quit drinking? I am not saying that there is anything medically wrong but just to be sure, go have a check up.

With that said, I honestly feel like your bodies are adjusting to not having any alcohol. And remember, when we were drinking/using, we numbed our bodies and now, without the chemicals, we are feeling every single little thing. . . . some of us aren't as young as we use to be! lol

Enjoy your Sobriety!
Judy

A trip to the doctor would be a good idea ....i had regular blood test for the first year.

very emotional....whoozy......unsteady........feelings of detachment.....either very hot or very cold......were around for a week or two if i remember right..

I saw it as the "tail end" symtoms of taking the poison out of my system that id been pouring in for years and years.

Always better to have a check-up if you can....................trucker

p.s......congratulations on 8 days.....no easy feat..........trucker

Good going Massey on Day 8!
Good going to everybody!!!

I've got the 'brain fog' too...
I'm on day 5.

I just came in from restocking up fruit juices, fresh produce, vitimins, etc..(because I've been eating like a pig and cleaned the fridge right out here over the last few days).

I had to walk past the liquor store, to get to the grocery store, and it was with great satisfaction
that I thought to myself "don't have to go in there anymore".

But, my brain was in a total fog. Like I'd been drinking.
I Kind of felt off balance.
In the grocery store, I had to apologize to 3 different people for bumping into them.
Driving home, wow, I felt drunk.

I'm chalking it up to 'brain fog', plus last I started the nightmare/dream stage,
so not having a proper sleep probably had something to do with it.

As soon as I fell asleep last night (2pm), I was dreaming in technicolour.

Barak Obama and I were going out drinking, I was over at his place, he was staggering
drunk and I was sober. I gave Michael a big hug goodbye, and Barak and I went out the front door of the Whitehouse, Michael shut the door with a thud. Barak fell down the front
steps of the Whitehouse, tumbling, and split his head wide open. There was no one else there, I turned and pounded on the door, but of course no one answered.

I woke up with a start, it was 230pm. Got up for some juice.
Being a Canadian, I have no idea why I would be going drinking with the US President!

It just got more and more bizarre after that, all night long, every 1/2 hour or so, up for another glass of juice or water.

I finally just got up at 7, and have had the brain fog all day.
I am going to the doctor tomorrow.
