Cake and Ice Cream
I am going skiing this week!! Thankfully my "normie" best friend and I are going alone. It will be alcohol free... We usually go out west but with all that's happened, rehab, 2 months out of work, the cost, it's not in the cards. So, up to Maine! (my favorite state!!)
I'm 18 weeks C&S and this will be my first ski trip sans Apres Ski. I was getting a little into the self pity thing... I mean, all those great microbrews and brewpubs, my favorite brands, etc... And then I found a way to get past that.
I am a grown up!! While an 8 year old who for health reasons can't have the cake and ice cream at the birthday party may not understand and feel shame or like it is some bad consequence of his existence, I am 51, I know I can still have all the fun of skiing, being outdoors, ie... all the reasons I go. So I can't have the cake and ice cream... I can still pin the tail on the donkey!!!!
I know, this analogy sounds kind of corny... but hey, whatever works....
