what have we done for us today???

So, I thought I'd start a thread about focussing on ourselves, self-care and putting ourselves first.

today, just for me, I have,

1) booked a half day of off work to devote to me!!
2) rung my counsellor and started up appointments again
3) rang a cleaner to ask about cleaning my house now that I am back at work as I am geting so down about it all.
4) texted a woman from my son's school to see if she would like to meet for coffee (doesn't sound like much, but I have post-natal depression which ramps up my social phobia to intense proportions), and went for coffe, and had a really good time, and agreed to go out on sunday to a comedy club that she runs (just got to try and sort out childcare now).
5) paid in my birthday cheques.
6) read some melody beattie "language of letting go"
7) eaten healthy foods

I would love it if people could share the lovely things have you done just for you today/this week so that I can get some ideas!!!!

This is a good one, I love lists. Here's mine today.

1) Wandered around the bedroom naked by myself for 10 minutes. I like the freedom of it and it boots my body image.
2) Put on pink lipstick (a sample in the mail) and kissed both dogs on the cheek.
3. Blew off work for 20 minutes to come on the forum.

The day is young, I'll have to think of more things.

Ok I'll go - though some of these aren't from JUST today but you get the idea:

1. Started a YOGA class for ME and ONLY ME!
2. I've volunteered to help out a couple of co-workers here at work with projects that I would have normally stayed away from - the "for me" part of this is getting myself back into my job that I love and have neglected.
3. I've been eating healthy and have dropped 7 lbs.
4. Painted my bedroom with a beautiful color that I picked out for ME!
5. Getting back to organizing clutter and "stuff" around my house.
6. Today I'm pushing all negative thoughts out of my mind b/c I don't want them bringing me down over the weekend.

Great thread!!

This is more "the things I've done for me this week", but here goes:

1) Put the title to the car in my name (I was awarded the car in the divorce) and then changed insurance companies so I could save some money (16 yr old drivers are expensive!).

2) Changed the water and gas bill into my name only.

3) Lifted weights with my son one night and found I have muscles that I didn't know existed...lol

4) Plan on walking on the treadmill later today.

5) Went to eat lunch with my parents today.

6) Hoping to have a peaceful 3 day weekend (my son is out of town and it's a 3 day weekend...YAY!).

1) Today I called in sick to work. I am actually quite sick, but I'm such a people pleaser, most times I'd just go in with a sinus headache, sore throat, no energy, and totally miserable, just to "make my boss happy". Today, I'm taking care of me.

2) Recently signed up for an art class, a pottery class, an aromoatherapy class, and a yoga class and they're all starting up the next couple weeks!

3) Got appointments set up with a new counselor who is MUCH closer to work.

4) Thanks to this thread, I'm going to put a call into the movers to see about hiring someone to carry my treadmill from my garage at my new place up the stairs into my second story apartment so I can START USING IT!!!

Thanks for starting this thread

Hi! I'll play.

Quit smokin 2 months ago

Been pumpin iron 2x weekly for 6 or 8 months now, getting bigger and stronger every week, have gained 10 lbs since I quit smoking (needed the weight). Every thing is so much easier, just moving around, when you're stronger!

7 yo dd turned me on to apples w/peanut butter....hot damn! Finally something good for you to eat peanut butter on!

Bought a new apple wedger tonight....old one had gotten dull, so much better.

Grew my grey locks out, been wearing a crew/flat top for 10 years. Looks nice.

Dd starts karate next week, thinking about yoga for me during her class, all this weight lifting has really tightened me up.

Life after alcoholism is really good....most of the time! Ha!

Thanks and God bless us all, :ghug

Went with a friend for a long walk on the beach right after work.
Then went shopping for some healthy food: mango, blueberries, salmon + greens
Made plans to visit my mom.

I have a three day weekend...Oh yea!!
I'm having an inauguration party this Tues.
