In pain

Hey guys, I don't know if i told you this or not but i have a kindney disease that produces kidney stones on a daily basis. I had a pain Dr. perscribe me OxyContin and that was all she wrote and i am sure you can only imagine how that ended up. I was addicted real quick and after a yr on it I was taking 800mg a day. I should be dead. Thank God that i am not. My question is what do I do now for pain because i am battleing the stones all the time and i am about to have to have surgery to get rid of them and this is pretty common for me to have. I only have 3 months clean and i am just wondering what am i supposed to do when I am hurting so bad. I have a high tolorence for pain but a person can only take so much. Thanks for letting me share and any advice would be greatly apprediated.

Thanks,
Heidi

Have you asked your doctor what non narcotic pain meds you can take? I'd find out from a doctor which ones are safe to take.

Welcome and congrats on your clean time!:ghug3

Hello, heidi!

Please talk to your doctor and be honest about your concerns. Good job on the sober time.

Hi Heidi,

I'm not sure if you noticed that there is a forum for Recovery and Pain Management.

A lot of us who are addicts, have to deal with aches and pains of various types, in our daily lives. I think that being very cautious is a good way to approach the issue and getting your drs advice.
