Hi I am new here so go easy!my partner has just finished detox and is going into rehab, I am extremely supportive of this and don't want to hinder his efforts at all but I miss him so much!We live 5 hours from each other and don't get to see each other much.He had been clean for 5 years and used 3 times in 2 days and he decided he needed to do detox / rehab again.I want to know if I write to him will that make it worse or will it be good for him to know I miss him and am supporting him out here?should I keep my letters bland weather work etc or let him know how much he means to me?HELP!!

I'm new to this forum as well. I'm not sure what to tell you other than it is great that your partner is going into rehab to get help. I don't know anything about contact while in rehab, but I hope someone with experience can come along and help answer your questions for you. Hang in there!

When my husband was in a 30 day rehab facility I wrote him nightly letters - I talked about the weather, our son, my feelings, books I was reading.....just whatever was on my mind. I used it as a replacement for talking to him.

And that was good for me. It helped me feel connected while he was away.

He told me that he enjoyed getting them, but I never got a letter back.
Rehab is all about the addict.

yeah write and let him kmow your there, he needs the support and love round, but love him from a distance and let him do this on his own but with your support. xx
